This way I have about 3 cities out of 15-20 on constant t3 unit production, works fine. Humans get a morale penalty from arctic for instance, elves don't, so in one random huge map I froze the entire continent to improve my chances against my enemy - and it's lots of fun to change the map to your own advantage.Īside of terraforming as stated above, I tend to use only a few cities for unit manufaction, most cities only get the basic setup (walls, tier 1 unit garrison, observatory for border expansion) and put them on gold production. This can be very effective, since you don't need to change separate fields into woods or barren places anymore, and the growing climate can debuff enemy realms. An alternative is changing the favourite climate via city spell and spreading that via global spell, in case you have both researched. If you play elves just change anything to forests, orcs to barren and so on. You can find out what kind of land you should use in the infos on your race in the city screen. This affects anything, gold, mana, production. If you hover over the happiness symbol in the city screen you will see the bonus you have through the surrounding land.
